Garmin Oregon 550 3-Inch Handheld GPS Navigator with 3.2MP Digital Camera
Firstly, I did not buy one but took an extensive "test drive" today with one that had 2010 maps in it.NOT!
I went to buy one today but the map section where my house is located and the map are at the very least 5 years old. Houses that have been here since 2005 are not shown nor are streets that are at least 5 or 6 years old.
What good is a GPS that is incapable of finding my home when I tap "Take me home" on it. The map appears to be no different from the maps in my 360 Nuvi that I got 3 years ago.
Garmin maps continue to be a disappointment.Garmin Oregon 550 3-Inch Handheld GPS Navigator with 3.2MP Digital Camera

I have spent more time in the woods then my wife wanted me to and its because i have been lost! A ranger from "DEC" said you wernt lost you were just turned around a little. Anyway I have been trying to buy one of these GPS units as they seem to be the Best out there, howevere a two hour drive to cabelas and they said they cant get theme yhey had two originaly and that was it. Two hours back home turn on the computer and yep i bought one in 20 minutes but the next day i found a e-mail its on back order for 2 to 3 weeks. Ok so i am patiently waiting but i think people / you should know they probably dont have a reliable product for sale and hence the back order and availability issue. just the same i have a nuvi in the car and they did get that thing spot on acurate so i will just keep waiting. Garmin FR60 Women's Lilac Fitness Watch (Includes Heart Rate Monitor and USB ANT Stick)
I had been looking at this sport watch for 6 months, and had read the reviews in Runners' World. I felt I had researched well, and my husband ended up purchasing this for me for Christmas. I have yet to be able to use the watch while running because it is very difficult to figure out. I have a master's degree, and use electronics frequently, so one would think I could easily figure this out. I tried several times, and my niece also worked on it for a week. No luck. I had one more person to try, and he had gotten other runners' watches working. It took him several hours, but he did get it working. I have not yet had the time to try it out, but I will say that if I still can't get it to work, it goes back. All I am interested in right now is my time, pace, and distance. Another MAJOR complaint is that the owners manual is not packaged with it! There is a quick start guide that was worthless. I did what it said and got nowhere. I spent over $200 for the watch and footpod, and then I am expected to print out the owners manual on my printer (40 pages!)? So, I hope that once I can use this watch, it works, and that I have to rewrite this review.Garmin FR60 Women's Lilac Fitness Watch (Includes Heart Rate Monitor and USB ANT Stick)

Garmin eTrex Vista H Handheld GPS Navigator
This is the same system used by SOF Soldiers for years. I have used mine in too many countrys to count (4 continents) and has saved my bu## more than once. I agree the base map is not perfect, however it is significantly better with either the terrain download or world map (free to SOF on intranet(not internet)). This system will take a beating and last for days of hard use by using lithium batteries. In a pinch, I paid $250 to replace a lost one back in the day and it was worth every penny!Garmin eTrex Vista H Handheld GPS Navigator
Garmin 010-00658-10 Forerunner 405 with ANT+ Sport Wireless Technology (Black)
I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday as an update to the older one that he had. He has had a harder time adjusting to this than I thought he would. The dial is a touch bezel and it seems more complicated to work than his old one. He hasn't said it, but I think he actually liked the older one better. Golf Buddy Tour GPS Range Finder
I gave one to my wife for Christmas - she had been _very_ good that year - and we took it along down to Florida. It knew the smaller of two courses at a golf community, and also knows our executive course locally in Maryland. It had no problem finding the course information, and the only confusion came when two tee boxes were right next to each other. Moving a few feet closer to the proper tee box solved that; it gave us yardages to all sorts of hazards; all in all, it did exactly what it said it would, with no muss or fuss. The only bad mark goes not against the unit, but the web site; perhaps it was overwhelmed on Christmas morning, but the registration process would not complete. We'll try again and see how it goes then...
Terrific unit, glad I bought it! (And so is the missus...)Golf Buddy Tour GPS Range Finder

Garmin Edge 305 Bicycle GPS Navigator with Heart Rate Monitor and Speed/Cadence Sensor
You have been warned - by all means buy a Garmin 305 today, but don't complain later. This is a worthless, unreliable piece of junk at a top-line price. The web is full of complaints about them crashing, hanging, not turning back on, not taking a charge, failing repeatedly and unexpectedly during rides and generally making a good skipping stone for the river, if you happen to be riding near one. Some people are on their fourth and fifth unit with the same problem. Garmin is not helping or even acknowledging this problem on their website. Google "Garmin 305 problem" and see for yourself.
Unfortunately this piece of trash was a Christmas present (new and unopened) and so I will have to deal through the person who gave it to me - very unpleasant. It also meant I couldn't do my research. You, though, have been warned - do not under any circumstances waste your money on this. Garmin products have become unreliable.
And when you are on the road with any kind of outdoor product - slick features are nice, but reliability is EVERYTHING. This product is not only bad but dangerous. Try stopping suddenly on a ride if you doubt that.Garmin Edge 305 Bicycle GPS Navigator with Heart Rate Monitor and Speed/Cadence Sensor

Bushnell Neo Golf GPS
The Bushnell Neo gives you yardage to the green as well as a shot feature to see how far your ball went. You must subscribe to Igolf for $35, but you can download up to 100 courses and you have a year to do it. Once you download a course onto your computer, you own it. The Neo is compact, but easy to read. The only thing I don't like about it, and it's a minor complaint, is that you have to manually advance to the next hole. The rechargable battery easily lasts three rounds. The Neo is a lot of bang for the buck.Bushnell Neo Golf GPS
SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS (Black)
I like the GPS, it works great. The only drawback is that it is pretty thick so that you really cant put it in your pocket and just pull it out when you are ready to hit. You have to either clip it on your belt (which impedes your swing) or leave it in the cart or with your caddy. If they could get the same technology onto a thin device, I think it would be much improved.SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS (Black)
Garmin Forerunner 310XT GPS Enabled Sports Watch with Heart Rate Monitor
This watch, in my opinion, is the greatest running watch since the Forerunner 305. For one thing, the GPS signals are far more accurate, and are found faster than previous models. When I put it on, it feels big, but once I start running I completely forget about it. The heart rate monitor was also very nice. Its a soft strap, so the heart rate sensors are the in strap itself, which makes it much easier to run in.For those reviewers who were saying how they cannot get a GPS signal in the water, and it's Garmin's fault, they have no idea what they are talking about. GPS has never worked under water, and probably never will. The GPS signals on this thing are accurate on land, which is what I care about.
If anyone was thinking about getting the Forerunner 405cx, I have a friend who has this watch, and he hates it. He says that if you get any water or sweat on the bezel that you must wipe it off, otherwise it lock up. Also, to pay more just for a more accurate calorie counter? No calorie counter will ever be 100% correct, so shelling out more doesn't seem worth it.
Here are my overall assumptions of the watch:
PRO
- easy to read screen
- accurate GPS signal
- comfortable heart rate monitor
- buttons are easy to press while running
- easy to control, set up workouts
- large screen, so I can see my progress mid-workout
- long battery life
CON
- initial set up can be a pain
- software that comes with watch is not very good
- heart rate monitor does not work underwater very well
If you want to analyze your workout data, I recommend Sporttracks. It free, and you can input data that wasn't recorded with the watch. There are also a lot of plugins, like Google earth maps, route finders, etc.

Leupold GX-II Digital Golf Rangefinder
Great rangefinder! I purchased it from Amazon last week and took it to the course today. The GX-II was easy to set up and learn how to use. On the first hole I was using it instead of looking around for ranges on sprinkler heads. My speed of play was much better and so was my score. I shot 2 stokes better today and I attribute it directly to better club selection. The true golf range feature helped me determine exactly what club I needed to use. Another point to make is that a buddy golfing with me had one of the high end Bushnell rangefinders and a half dozen times we checked ranges together and they matched to the yard each time. Even with ranges over 225 yards. Great product!Leupold GX-II Digital Golf Rangefinder

Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor (Bilingual)
There are reviews for this all over Amazon and the web. The thing I like the most is that now when I run I know that this will put it in my face when I get home. I know I am being tracked from my speed, heart rate, etc. If I choose to slow down the graph will show it as plain as day. I love it!Also there is a free product out there that it much better than the out of the box software this comes with. It is called SportTracks...google it.Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor (Bilingual)
GARMIN 010-10997-00 Heart Rate Monitor
This product is mislabeled. It is actually a heart rate transmitter. It does not include a display to be worn on the wrist or to be mounted on a training device. This seems to be the only transmitter listed by Amazon that is labeled as a monitor. Other products listed as monitors are complete sets--chest transmitter and display reciever. There is nothing in the product description that makes this clear. So I have to return this product and obtain the transmitter and reciever.GARMIN 010-10997-00 Heart Rate Monitor
Garmin Forerunner 405CX GPS Sport Watch with Heart Rate Monitor (Blue)
It took me a while to "push the button" on buying this watch. It wasn't the money. The price is a bit salty and other units out there are reported to perform well. But I wasn't keen on running with a cell-phone-sized monster strapped to my wrist so that I could save a few bucks. No, my hesitation was because some of the online reviews I'd read were critical of the watches functioning - particularly the bezel interface.
I'm here to tell you - Don't Worry! I've had an opportunity to put this thing through its paces on both ends of the climate spectrum, and it performed flawlessly.
In one week, thanks to a trip to South America, I was able to use the watch in 90 degree weather and 20 degree weather. The watch performed well with sweat, with gloves, with cold fingers and hot - no issues.
You do have to know what you're doing, so as we in high-tech jobs say - "RTFM." (Read the freakin' manual!). I recommend establishing your nine key metrics (three each on three screens), set the watch to auto-scroll and lock the bezel after hitting the start button. You're never more than a second or two from what you want to know, and if there's something you're particularly interested in, set it as a data point on more than one screen.
This watch can't be beat, and if you're even remotely serious about running, it's worth every penny.

Garmin Approach G5 GPS-Enabled Golf Handheld
I've had the Approach 5 GPS device for a full season now. The device works great. The problem is if there is an error on a course map, it's impossible to get someone to change it. There is a system in place to make a change on the website. I've submitted multiple changes on different courses and not one was fixed. On one course, the Golf Club changed the order of the holes. I made a submission 3 times over a 4 month period and nothing was ever done. The most frustrating part of making a change is that after you make the submission, you never hear anything from Garmin.
I also own a Golflogix GPS device. I've submitted changes to them and have gotten responses back the same day.In some cases Golf Logix didn't have a course I was about to play. I emailed them a scanned scorecard and I received the course via email in 24 hours.
The Garmin device looks great. The features are great. It's easy to use, but without accurate course data, it is not your best choice of GPS devices.
For the high premium they charge for the device, I suggest that you spend it on a GolfLogix device.

Garmin Oregon 400T 3-Inch Touchscreen Handheld GPS Unit with Preloaded Topographic Maps
I've been a long-time loyal Amazon customer purchasing many thousands of dollars of goods through this site. A few weeks ago I ordered the Garmin Oregon 400T from Amazon direct (not a parter) for $329, the lowest I found. I knew it was going to take several weeks or more, but I was ok with that due to the great price. A couple days ago they emailed to inform me my order was cancelled, and they simply wouldn't be fulfilling it. I just looked at this item on Amazon, and they're now selling it for $429, but through a partner called Pavillion Electronics. I find this hugely frustrating. After making me wait 3 weeks I think they should have done what ever it takes to fulfill my order for the ...[] price. This was a huge cop out on their part. Luckily I found the 400t for the same [...] price at Costco.com, also with free shipping and fantastic return policy...better than Amazon's I think. Plus I can return it to a local Costo store, a nice option to have. [...] doesn't always come up as high on the list with internet searches for products, but I'll be sure to be checking it out regularly now, and no doubtedly Amazon will be losing business they other wise would have gotten due to this one extremely poor handling of my order. It'll definitely make me think twice about ordering from Amazon going forward.

Great basic unit for a a great price! No bells or whistles but provides yardage to front center and back of green. Minimizes the amount of time wasted looking for sprinklers with distance markers. Really helps with club selection on the tee box at par 3's. Software easy to install and use (one time fee of ~ $10 bucks). Can hold up to 10 courses. Not fancy but gets the job done! Works very well with the Garmin Forerunner 405. I am not crazy about having a strap around my chest while running, but that is the price you have to pay to have a heart monitor. GolfLogix GPS by Garmin
After much research, I ordered the Golflogix GPS by Garmin a month ago. I ignored the complaints about connection problems and poor customer service since so many of the reviews were positive. I used the Super Saver Shipping and knew from previous experiences that it would take 14-17 days to receive the product. I planned to use the Golflogix GPS during a holiday golf trip and received it in plenty of time, 15 days later. I tried to connect and register the Golflogix GPS (necessary to load the courses and use the device) several times on my three computers (desktop, laptop, and netbook all with XP) with no luck. I emailed Golflogix and received a reply stating someone would get back with me (they are only available during weekday business hours on mountain time). I waited the weekend and three weekdays with no further email response from Golflogix. I then contacted Golflogix customer service by phone. After approximately an hour and a half of trying different processes including taking a suggeted steak knife to pull out the pins on the device end of the cable, getting cut off once, uninstalling and reinstalling the Golflogix software and restarting my computer over and over, the not overly friendly Golflogix representative informed me that I must have a defective cable. He took my mailing information after much difficulty trying to enter it correctly, put me on hold for 5-10 minutes, and informed me that I will receive a weird looking wire in 7-10 days since it will not be mailed until they get time after the holidays (they will be closed for a long weekend and then busy). He reports the wire should solve the problem. Needless to say, I have been unable to use the device during my golf trip . I am very disappointed and would not recommend the product or their customer service to anyone else. If possible, I will return the Golflogix GPS--the representative indicated that they would not replace the unit. I am hoping I can return it since I did not purchase it directly from Golflogix. If not possible to return the Golflogix GPS, I will try the "weird looking wire" and update my review. GolfLogix GPS by Garmin
GARMIN 010-10644-00 Speed/Cadence Sensor
I just got this for Christmas. I mounted it on my bike it was very easy to mount. A couple wire ties. The hard part was figuring out I needed to tell my 310xt to look for it. Once I figured that out it synced right up. I took it out for a short ride to test it. Not sure what function the speed serves as the watch has gps that picks up the speed. Maybe if you are riding somewhere with heavy tree coverage you could still get speed. I use mine on a road bike so I am not sure about this. I like having this other data point to look at post workout. I am also able to check cadence during my ride. GARMIN 010-10644-00 Speed/Cadence Sensor
