Garmin Geko 201 -- the smallest and lightest WAAS-enabled GPS navigators (010-00318-00)
As a skeptic about GPS, I bought the Geko only for marking maintenance needs on hiking trails. I found it was fun to play with, too. It is about the most reliable way to test the speed of my canoes, and navigating in featureless aquatic environments such as bays and estuaries is a cinch. Although I will probably continue to rely on map and compass for hiking and backpacking, I'm glad to have the expanded capabilities of the Geko.Garmin Geko 201 -- the smallest and lightest WAAS-enabled GPS navigators (010-00318-00)

Magellan Meridian Gold Handheld GPS
I use this GPS when I go kayaking mostly to know how many miles I go, how fast I go and the track to get me back. I am notvery tech savvy but I was able to start using this right away without any problem. It feels sturdy and the screen is easy
to read. Battery life is okay. I get about 1 day and 1/2 of full time use before changing.Magellan Meridian Gold Handheld GPS
Olight M20 Flashlight White Diffuser Filter Lens Cap
I bought this together with a red and green filter. Truth is, I haven't found much use for it yet, but that said, this filter delivers. If you are looking for a diffuser, this is a sanded glass filter which is well built and effectively diffuese the light from your Olight into an even white light, almost eliminating any defined shade behind the lighted objects. Very good indeed.Olight M20 Flashlight White Diffuser Filter Lens Cap

Magellan GPS 315
After nearly getting lost with the family last month I decided to get a GPS unit. It's 2008 now and there are lots of expensive and high tech units, especially for cars. I thought I'd start with what was considered good enough when people were getting lost back in 1999 - this model. I recommend it for someone who in interested in:- learning about GPS
- using for casual hiking
- not spending too much
- eventually making this the 'emergency backup gps'
The thing is that it doesn't have maps built in to it, which is what we eventually will all get in cheap units in a few years. For hiking this unit can be quite good, because it's battery use is okay (12+ hours on 2 rchargeable AAs), it actually draws a little map for you as you hike even though it doesn't have an internal map of your trail or any geography - although it does come with US and world large and medium sized cities. Using the little map, if you got lost you could retrace your steps using its back track feature. Of course it tells you compass coordinates, your speed, your expected time of arrival etc. Lastly it is available on ebay and craigslist and amazon used for the price of a meal. A data/12v cable is available on ebay and amazon for you to hook up to a computer, but that might be overkill for this unit.
Sure I'll eventually upgrade to a unit that comes with maps, but for now at least if I get lost on a hike I can safely get out. For such little money, everyone who is prepared to take a couple of days to understand how GPS works should have one in his/her backpack. The Model 320 is the same thing but comes programmed with US coastal buoys and navigation aids. One last thing, the manual is so-so; the kind that makes more sense only after you've figured it out already. I'd recommend taking on a "Easy GPS" book from your local library written in the late nineties or early 00s.Magellan GPS 315

Lowrance iFinder Go2 GPS (Red)
I bought this for geo-caching. I actually decided to go Lowrance because I have another that I use for the car and liked that one. I hate this iFinder GPS. It is so hard to use and the directions are completely confusing. I did look into Tom Tom and theirs can used for driving directions as well as for entering the latitudes and longitudes...Lowrance iFinder Go2 GPS (Red)

Magellan Triton 200 Handheld Navigation System
Unfortunately the gps unit I received doesn't work correctly. It freezes up and I lose all data.I have been in touch with Magellan and they are going to repair or replace free of charge. I am confident this will be resolved. My son has the same gps unit and it works great.Magellan Triton 200 Handheld Navigation System
iGolf GPS Caddie II
I bought this back in 2008. I got about 1 year of use out of this. Many of the courses are not covered. After buying this device you have to pay a membership which entitles you to a specific # fo courses- Many of which are not available. When you call the company they are not much help (felt like they just gave me the blow off). Now for the kicker.. the device has a small cheap clip on the back whch is not very reliable at holding the device on your golf bag or belt (mine broke). The Caddie II goes through batteries very quickly and you cannot use rechargeable batteries... if you do it locks up and you have to reset the entire unit (Loosing all the golf courses you had saved to the unit). This is not good when you have a tournament to go to and POOF the unit locks up!! Be ready to buy tons of batteries. Needless to say the unit (without the clip) is subkect to a lot of vibration if you ride with it in the cup holder in the cart. This thing hates vibration as with any electronic device. My unit no longer works! I think this was a quick easy way for company to make money. Buy a bertter branded product!!! It will save you money and time!iGolf GPS Caddie II

iGolf Caddie Handhelp Golf GPS - Remanufactured
I have had this for three years. I subcribed to the course download feature which also extended the warranty. Right from the start, the unit would loose loaded course information when turned off. Not all the time but most of the time. It also turned itself off on the course after only being on for 1 hour and fresh batteries. I sent a lot of e-mails to I Golf and got only one reply asking for the serial number of the unit. I sent the info to Igolf and never heard from them again. There is virtually no customer support. I am shopping for another unit now.iGolf Caddie Handhelp Golf GPS - Remanufactured

Magellan Meridian Platinum Handheld GPS
I've used this numerous times to find my way around blocked roads and unfamiliar cities. It was a good GPS for it's time, but I'd suggest now to find a newer model, computer interface is pretty clunky and slow with this model if you want to upload more detailed maps to it. Recommendation: Nice GPS, past it's prime, look for something newer if you are buying.Magellan Meridian Platinum Handheld GPS
Magellan Meridian Color Handheld GPS Navigator (16 MB)
This is the best hand-held GPS. It is upgradable with new maps which you won't find on some others. The color screen is easy to read, bright and dims easily to save power. All in all, it fits the bill for the serious traveler. This powerful tool actually asists you in navigating your own route, far prefereable for my liking than others which tell you which way to go. I like to make choices, and I have experienced more direct routes and discovered many roads and foot routes less traveled all over the US and Europe with the assistance of this wonderful device. I have discovered marvelous places with my Magellan -- places only the locals know. I have used my Magellan Meridian Color GPS for three years, and I can't imagine how it can be improved upon. I consider it indespensible for traveling. Works great in the car, and then you can take it with you on foot, train or bus. If you apply yourself to learning how to use this device it will increase your satisfaction in traveling and knowledge of your surroundings.Magellan Meridian Color Handheld GPS Navigator (16 MB)

SkyGolf SG1 and SG2 Leather Holster
I also purchased this for my husband. Now he doesn't have to worry about scratches or cleaning it all the time. The only thing that was desappointing was in order to use his golf mount, he had to remove the protective cover or it wouldn't fit. Slight pain but he still likes and uses it.SkyGolf SG1 and SG2 Leather Holster
Sureshot GPS Golf System
If its not in the system good luck. I have requested online and via email for a course to be added for over a month. I tried to map it myself but you have to stand for 10 seconds on the front, middle and back of the green plus anything else you want mapped. Its impossible during an actual game. I highly recommend to check the list first. If its not listed you might never get it added. My cousin bought another GPS system and requested the same course and it was available for download in less than a week. The scoring system is a bit strange. I have yet to find it accurate in my GIR's and Fairways hit for some reason. I am not sure if that is operator error or something else.
The worst news is I used it 5 times in a little over a month and it was stolen from my cart during a bathroom break. Do not leave it out around a clubhouse.Sureshot GPS Golf System

Lowrance iFinder Hunt C GPS
I gave this gps as a gift but the reciepient loves it. The only disappointing feature was that when getting directions for somewhere it does not tell you to turn left or right or anything like that. It just shows a map from point a to point b. Not a huge big deal but for people like me who cant read a map to save a life, this was a disappointment. Other than that no problems.Lowrance iFinder Hunt C GPS
